Job Description
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Healthcare Construction Plan Reviewer to evaluate electronic construction drawings and specifications for healthcare facilities. This role ensures compliance with the Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI) standards and NFPA 101: Life Safety Code , helping to protect patient safety and ensure regulatory compliance across a range of healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities
Review architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) plans for new builds, renovations, and expansions of healthcare facilities.
Evaluate plans for compliance with FGI Guidelines , NFPA 101 , and other applicable codes.
Focus on areas such as egress, fire protection, occupancy classification, and life safety systems.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to address code discrepancies.
Prepare detailed reports outlining deficiencies, required changes, and final approvals.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare facility codes, standards, and regulatory updates.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
At least 1 year of experience in healthcare facility plan review or code compliance.
Working knowledge of FGI Guidelines , NFPA 101 , and ASHRAE requirements.
Proficiency with electronic plan review software ( Revit/Autodesk , etc.).
Experience with Joint Commission or CMS standards is highly desirable.
Ability to understand and interpret functional programs and clinical workflows.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
